Course Objectives: 

The course covers decision making under uncertainty, partial equilibrium theory, and general equilibrium theory. The GE portion includes existence and welfare theorems, production, and uncertainty. We will cover insurance and securities markets with uncertainty but symmetric information. We will introduce asymmetric information in the Rothschild-Stiglitz competitive screening model and Akerlof lemons model..
